10 Reasons Osinbajo Will Ignite a Religious Civil War by Farooq Kperogi

A Yemi Osinbajo presidency would, without a doubt, plunge Nigeria into the depths of a smoldering religious volcano that will hasten its self-immolation. This isn’t some idly churlish oracular indulgence. It’s based on an intimate familiarity with Osinbajo’s trajectory of religious bigotry, overpowering anti-Muslim prejudice, and irrevocable devotion to the materialization of a Pentecostal, specifically RCCG, capture of the Nigerian state. Here’re 10 reasons for my fears: 1. The RCCG memo that asked churches to actively support its members vying for political offices was inspired by Osinbajo and is consistent with his history of exclusivist religious politics. In 2013, for example, he formed the Christian Conscience Group—along with Enoch Ajiboso, Dele Sobowale, and Most Reverend Josep...

Opinion: Osinbajo Takes His Lying Spree to America – Reno Omokri

My attention has been drawn to statements by the so called Pastor Yemi Osinbajo, the deputy to General Muhammadu Buhari, in New York where, as usual, he made false statements to the media in an effort to explain away his non performance in office. Speaking in New York yesterday, Osinbajo said as follows: "As at 2010, Nigeria had about 112.7million people living in extreme poverty. Nothing in place, there was no Social Investment Programme, there was no social security, no way of taking people out of poverty." The above statement is a lie and it is very easy to disprove Mr. Osinbajo's fallacious assertions. According to the United Nations and the World Poverty Clock, Nigeria overtook India as the world headquarters for extreme poverty on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, when her populati...

Nigeria: Osinbajo is a Liar – Reno Omokri

Former assistant former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has taken to his Twitter account to call out Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, calling him an outright liar. In a series of tweets, Reno noted that Nigeria was worse off under the Buhari-Osinbajo administration. He wrote: "@ProfOsinbajo claimed in USA that @GeJonathan did nothing for the poor and under GEJ we had 112.7 million extremely poor people. Yet, according to the @UN, Nigeria's extremely poor population INCREASED to its highest ever level on June 26, 2018 to "87 million". "The #WorldPovertyClock established that Nigeria had 61 million extremely poor people in 2010. But @ProfOsinbajo lied yesterday in USA that there were 112.7 million extremely poor people in 2010 and he and @MBuhari are reducing the number. And h...

Nigeria: Osinbajo Expresses Satisfaction on Apapa Road Clearance

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday expressed satisfaction at the level of Truck clearance achieved in the Apapa axis, saying the Federal Government was committed to building more ports across the country to decongest the gridlock in and out of the Apapa ports. Osinbajo made this known in an interview with newsmen after inspecting the Lily pond transit truck park, Creek Road and other network of roads leading to the Apapa port. The vice president was accompanied on the tour by Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Hadiza Bala Usman, among others. “We need to understand that this is a port that was designed to take 34 million metric tonnes daily but it is currently taking over 80 million metric tonnes. “With...

Nigeria: Blame Past Governments for Nigeria’s Lack of Progress – Prof. Osinbajo

Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has said that the major problem facing Nigeria is lack of integrity on the part of its leaders. Prof. Osinbajo said the ugly trend reared its head more especially with past leadership of the country. He made these remarks while speaking at the 11th colloquium of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Bola Tinubu, on Thursday. Mr Osinbajo, representing President Muhammadu Buhari at the event, said bad leadership of the past cost the country major infrastructural development. He blamed past governments for being wasteful in times of abundance. “I have said it before, Nigeria’s main problem is not a lack of ideas, it’s not. Most of the time, especially with the leadership of the past, it is lack of integrity in leadership and corruption i...

Nigeria: Stop Trying to Deceive Nigerians – PDP to Osinbajo

The People's Democratic Party has advised Vice President Osinbajo to stop trying to deceive Nigerians manipulated figures. According to the PDP, this was simply an attempt at covering the woeful performance of the APC led government of President Buhari. The party rather admonished Osinbajo to show Nigerians this administration's score card rather than try to confuse them with bogus figures. In a statement, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party's spokesperson said "the Buhari administration, which crippled our once robust economy, pushed it into recession, turned our nation from a growing economy to a debtor country and world’s poverty capital. "Despite being busted, Osinbajo is labouring to deceive Nigerians by converting domestic borrowings in Naira, under the APC, to US dollars, so that ...
