UCL: Osimhen Continues Goal Scoring Streak As Napoli Down Frankfurt

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen continued his impressive form in front of goal as Napoli defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash on Tuesday. Napoli was awarded a penalty in the 35th minute when Osimhen was fouled in the box but the spot kick was missed by Georgia international, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.   Osimhen put Napoli ahead in the match after converting a Hirving Lozano pass five minutes after the missed penalty kick. The goal was the Nigeria international’s second in four Champions League matches for the Italian side this season. Napoli surgeon, Professor Gianpaolo Tartaro has declared that it would only take a miracle for Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen to represent the senior national team at the fast-approaching 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.   Super Eagles and Napoli forward, Victor Osihmen has joined the growing number of youths protesting against police brutality in Nigeria. The forward was on target for Italian outfit Napoli when they hosted Atalanta in a Seria A game on Saturday. He scored in the 30th minute and used the opportunity to brandish a white shirt with the now popular "#EndPoliceBrutality" hashtag. The match would later end 4-1 in favor of Napoli who are now fourth on the table after four league matches. Napoli coach  Gennario Gattuso had nice words to say about the Nigerian forward who joined his side at the beginning of the season from French side Lille. "Osihmen is a player who is giving us many game solutions. The way he moves scares teams against us. I'm happy for the goal."

Nigerian Striker Victor Osimhen Excused from Lille’s Pre-season

Prolific Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen who plies his trade in France has been granted compassionate leave from the club’s pre-season. This was disclosed by Christopher Galtier, Lille head coach who expressed the club’s support for the player as he mourns the demise of his father. His leave will grant him time to grief with his family. Osimhen had flown to Nigeria in preparation for the funeral of his late father next week after being granted compassionate leave. Lille have begun preparation for the new season after last season was abruptly ended due to fears of COVID-19 spread.
