The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is still yet to pay the Women’s National Team their allowances and bonuses from last month’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON. The Super Falcons deliberately missed training before their third-place play-off against Zambia over their unpaid bonuses and allowances. The Super Falcons of Nigeria lost 0-1 to the Copper Queens of Zambia in the third-place match of the WAFCON 2022 on Friday in Morocco. The Zambian side claimed the Bronze medal courtesy of an own goal by Chiamaka Nnadozie in the first half of the encounter. The medal marked Zambia’s first ever medal. The Falcons had only finished fourth at the WAFCON in the 2012 edition. The Super Falcons have been eliminated from the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) by the competition’s host, Morocco. Morocco eliminated the Nigeria women’s team in the semifinals at the ongoing WAFCON competition on penalty shootouts as the game ended in a draw at full time and extra time.
