Election in Osun: 21,000 Policemen Deployed for Security

About 21,000 police officers have been deployed for the upcoming governorship election in Osun state. The election is set to take place this Saturday 16th of July 2022. Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba, The Inspector General of Police made this known on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ meeting held by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Catholic Priests Abducted along Expressway in Edo

Two catholic priests traveling along the Benin-Auchi-Abuja Expressway have reportedly been kidnapped. The priests were abducted on Saturday while traveling from Benin to Uromi in Edo state. Shortly after Rev. Fr. Christopher Odia of the St. Michael Catholic Church, located around the Edo North Senatorial District was kidnapped and killed, two other priests, Rev.Fathers Udo Peter and Philemon were also kidnapped in the same state. Mr. Fred Itua, a close friend of Rev. Fr. Oboh also confirmed that he was kidnapped. "Rev. Fr. Oboh is a priest, who does not have money. NRC Postpones Resumption Of Abuja -Kaduna Train Services

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) on Friday bowed to pressure and announced the suspension of the proposed resumption of the Abuja- Kaduna Train Service (AKTS) indefinitely. In its 11th update since the Kaduna bound train was attacked by terrorists on March 28, 2022, signed by Yakub Mahmood, the Deputy Director Public Relations, the corporation said the resumption, earlier announced on May, 16, 2022, to resume on Monday has been postponed.
