Lagos Announces Closure Of Roads In Marina Friday for Shonekan’s Burial

The Lagos State Government has said it will be diverting traffic along Inner Marina to Outer Marina by Oando Filling Station due to the burial service of the late former Head of Interim Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan. The diversion will begin from 5.00 am till 6.00 pm on Friday, 4th February 2022. Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde explained that all adjoining and feeder roads leading to Inner Marina road to Nitel building would be cordoned off. He advised Motorists to utilize JK Randle street through Force road to connect Broad street and continue their journey as Inner Marina road/Odunlami Street from Outer Marina road will be barred from vehicular movement. With the N-EXIT plan package, at least 200,000 exited Npower beneficiaries will be engaged as financial services operators under a Shared Agent Network Expansion Facility (SANEF) scheme controlled by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Over 30,000 Npower volunteers have already been engaged as geospatial experts and enumerators in the Economic Sustainability Plan’s Mass Agric programs such as the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development/Agriculture for Food and Job Plan (FMARD AFJP) and the Project for Agricultural Co-ordination and Executive (PACE), while other Npower volunteers are given the alternative of benefiting from the GEEP micro-enterprise loans. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Enugu Zonal Command on Friday, January 28, 2022, returned eleven houses recovered in different parts of Enugu to Chief Arthur Eze. Three trans-border drug traffickers have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, while trying to smuggle 48,000 tablets of 225mg Tramadol through Mubi, Adamawa state to Cameroon Republic, just as over 1,500 kilograms of imported Loud and other illicit substances have been intercepted in raids across Lagos and Edo states. The suspects: Mohammed Hussaini, 32; Adamu Bella, 18, and Mohammed Umar, 18, were arrested at Tsamiya Junction, Madanya Road, Mubi, Mubi North LGA, Adamawa State on Friday 28th January, with the exhibits concealed in the packets of another drug.
