Oyetola Didn’t Access Any Loan Since 2018 — Govt

Adegboyega Oyetola Osun State government, Sunday, disclosed that the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has not accessed any credit facility, since assumption of office in 2018. Former commissioner for Finance under Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s administration, Mr. Wale Bolorunduro, had said that the state’s negative Federal allocation for February was due to a fresh loan facility the Oyetola-led administration accessed. The state government received as Federal allocation the sum of N379,914,981.09 for the month of February, which raised concern over its debt status among residents. Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, across the 332 wards of the state. The chairman of the primary election committee and the governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbsulRazaq, announced the result in the early hours of Sunday at the APC Secretariat in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. Suspected hoodlums have attacked some supporters of the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregebsola, under the All Progressives Congress. Reports indicate that Aregbesola’s supporters were attacked on Tuesday at a political meeting in Ikirun. The Osun Progressive caucus, under the Osun APC, were said to have been holding a meeting beside the Ifelodun Local Government Council secretariat when they were attacked by the hoodlums. Oyetola Signs Anti-Open Grazing Law, Defaulters Risk One Year Imprisonment

The Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has signed into law the bill prohibiting open grazing in the state. The bill, which was passed by the Osun State House of Assembly on Thursday, August 12, prohibited a minor from grazing and provided for establishment of ranches. Two commercial banks and police stations were on Wednesday attacked by armed robbers in Apomu and Ikire towns in Osun state. During the attack, it was learnt many people were shot dead by the robbers, even though the state police command said the number of casualty was not available. The robbers were said to have entered Apomu and Ikire through Ikoyi town, and divided themselves into different groups before they launched attacks on the police stations and the affected banks. Gunmen Kidnap Travellers in Osun

Gunmen on Sunday night abducted travellers on Omoh/Erin-Ijesha road in Ori-Ade Local Government of Osun State, according to a report by The Nation. It was gathered that the hoodlums waylaid the travellers and took some of them to a nearby bush near Ori-Oke Omoh, while others were left on the scene. The Nation learnt that one of those abducted escaped from the gunmen and informed security operatives about the incident. The Corps Commander of ‘Amotekun Corps’ in Osun State, General Bashir Adewinbi, confirmed that travellers were kidnapped on Sunday. “We did not know how many people that were abducted by the gunmen, but we have drafted operatives to the scene to rescue the victims,” he said. The Police Command in Osun says it has arrested three suspected robbers who hijacked two articulated vehicles and robbed the occupants along Osu-Ile Ife expressway in the state. This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Osogbo by Commissioner of Police Olawale Olokode.
