Nigerian Army Foil Terrorist Attack On Borno Community

The Nigerian Army has disclosed that troops of 25 Task Force Brigade repelled terrorists attack Damboa town in Borno State on Sunday. The troops were said to have overpowered the terrorists in a gun battle, forcing them to flee. The Army Director of Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement on Monday said two vehicles belonging to the Civilian Joint Task Force were razed during the gun duel. He added that the troops are currently on the trail of the fleeing terrorists. Tolulope Arotile, first female combat helicopter pilot in the Nigerian Air Force has died in a road traffic accident. Reports have it that the pilot died due to complications arising from head injuries sustained in a road accident at NAF Base in Kaduna on Tuesday. Arotile rose to limelight after she set record as the first female combat helicopter pilot, commissioned in October 15, 2019 following her graduation from Starlite International Training Academy, South Africa. Nigeria: Nigerian Air Force Appoints Branch Chiefs, Redeploys AOCs

In a bid to adopt effective operational system, the Nigerian Air Force on Wednesday appointed new Branch Chiefs, redeployed 2 Air Officers Commanding (AOCs) and other senior officers. In a statement from its spokesman, Air commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said the new appointments take effect from 19th of July. According to Daramola,  two Air Officers Commanding were redeployed in the force.
