Lekki Tollgate Shooting: Why We Won’t Disclose Identity of Soldiers Deployed – Army

The Nigerian Army has said that it will reveal the identities of its personnel who were deployed in Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020. This was disclosed by acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations and 81 Division’s spokesperson, Major Osoba Olaniyi. Amnesty international and other groups have claimed varied number of casualties resulting from the Lekki toll gate area shooting though the Lagos State government claim only one person was killed. TVC Resumes broadcast After Being Vandalised

Following a four days hiatus due to an attack of its headquarters in Lagos by irate youths, Television Continental (TVC) has resumed broadcasting. A group of angry youths had attacked TVC’s headquarters at Ketu on Wednesday, wrecking its facilities thereby taking the station off air. The attack was part of destruction that took place after security operatives opened fire at peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate area on Tuesday. The reopening of TVC comes after the Nation newspaper resumed operation. The Nation’s headquarters was equally attacked by angry youths. Amnesty International has admitted that security operatives killed scores of peaceful protesters in two locations in Lagos State on Tuesday.
