Nigeria Took Chinese Loans Because They Want To Help With Infrastructure – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his government took loans from China because the Asian country was willing to help Nigeria’s infrastructure. Buhari said this on Wednesday during an interview with Channels Television while defending his government’s decision to source loans from China. According to him, anybody that is prepared to come and help Nigeria’s infrastructure to do the roads, rail and power will be welcomed. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB, Nigeria’s former Military President has attributed the delay in releasing his biography to fear of being sued for libel. He disclosed this while speaking in an interview on Channels Television on Friday adding that he intends to ensure the memoir turns out top notch. The Ogun state Government plans a conditional approval for reopening of places of worship  across the state from August 14, 2020 in absolute compliance to COVID-19 safety guidelines. The state government also disclosed that schools will resume August 4,  for students preparing for the recently approved senior school certificate examination organised by West African Examination Council (WAEC). The apex Igbo and Yoruba socio-political groups in Nigeria on Wednesday chided Mamman Daura, President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew over his remark on the zoning of presidency in 2023. The groups – Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Afenifere in different interviews on Wednesday said Buhari was a beneficiary of zoning in 2015 when he emerged the country’s president. They said Buhari was not the most qualified for the position if he were to be judged based on merit as Daura posited, given his handling of the country’s affairs.
