Man Sodomises 12 Almajiri Children In Gombe

The men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State Command, have arrested a 40-year-old man, Usman Mohammed, for luring about 12 children aged between five to 10 years old. Mohammed, a resident of Liji in Yalmatu Deba Local Government Area of the state, allegedly specialized in having carnal knowledge of minors. According to Mohammed, who spoke when he was paraded at the NSCDC state headquarters on Tuesday, he was introduced to same-sex intercourse by his Islamic teacher when he was aged 18 years as an Almajiri student in Kano. Bolanle Raheem: How My Wife Battled For Survival As Hospitals Refused Treatment – Husband

Gbenga, the husband of slain Lagos lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem, on Thursday, at the Lagos State High Court, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island, recounted how his wife struggled to survive as three hospitals refused to attend to her. The late lawyer was shot to death on Christmas Day by an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Drambi Vandi. The husband also told the court she received the Toyota Venza in which she was shot as a gift on Friday, December 23, 2022, two days before her death. ICPC Frees D’Banj, Says Probe Ongoing

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has said that Nigerian music star, Oladapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, has been released but that investigation will continue. Recall that the commission had on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, detained D’Banj, after he was quizzed over his involvement in the alleged diversion of funds meant for the Federal Government’s economic empowerment programme, N-Power. Reacting to the allegation, Pelumi Olajengbesi, counsel to the singer, D’Banj, said his client was unconditionally freed. Tweep Remanded In Prison For Criticizing Aisha Buhari

A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court on Tuesday remanded a 500-level student of the Federal University, Dutse, Aminu Muhammad, in a custodial centre for allegedly criticing the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari. The 24-year-old was accused of tweeting against the first lady of Nigeria. Tiktokers To Be Flogged In Kano For Defaming Ganduje

The Kano State Magistrates’ Court in its ruling on Monday ordered the flogging of two comedians identified as Mubarak Muhammad, and Zazifi Bala, for abusing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on their Tiktok handles. According to Magistrate Aminu Gabari, in his ruling on Monday, the duo should be given 20 lashes for their offense and will sweep and wash toilets in the surroundings of the court for a period of 30 days. The Magistrate ordered that the individuals be publicly flogged. The convicts were also ordered to pay a fine of N10,00 each for defaming Ganduje and a further N10,00 for causing public disturbance. A UN human rights expert has called on the authorities in Mauritania to take urgent measures to implement an anti-slavery law which was passed in 2015. Following a visit to the West African country, Tomoya Obokata - the UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of slavery - said some progress had been made in abolishing the practice but warned much more needed to be done. A court in Rwanda has jailed a Chinese national for 20 years for torturing local mineworkers after a video showing him whipping a man tied to a post went viral on social media. Sun Shujun, the manager of a mine in the west of the country, was convicted on Tuesday along with an accomplice following his arrest last September. “It is clear that (Sun) tortured the victims and issued corporal punishment with malicious intent, and this is a grave crime,” Judge Jacques Kanyarukiga ruled, ordering him to serve a 20-year term in prison.
