Gunmen Kidnap Four Catholic Sisters In Imo

Gunmen abducted four Catholic Reverend Sisters on Sunday along the Okigwe-Umulolo area of the expressway. Their abduction was confirmed in a statement released by The Sister of Jesus The Saviour congregation. The Secretary-General of the congregation, Sister Zita Ihedoro, solicited for prayers from the faithful for their safe and quick release. Among the Sisters kidnapped are Johannes Nwodo, Christabel Echemazu, Liberata Mbamalu and Benita Agu. The Catholic diocese of Gboko, Benue State has suspended a priest, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, for participating in partisan politics. Alia is a frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Benue State. He has picked the APC N50m nomination form. Fiery Enugu Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, has apologised to the Catholic church over the attack and destruction of the Enugu Catholic Diocese Bishop’s Court and Holy Ghost Cathedral in Enugu. Pope Francis has requested that Roman Catholic priests be given the right to get married. The request applies to priests in Brazil, and is on the agenda for an upcoming synod (church council) in the Amazon region.
