Opinion: INEC Server – The Trap that Caught Baba, INEC and APC

This INEC hide & seek game has become nothing but comical... Stage 1: INEC discovered late that they didn't cover their dirty tracks very well and that Atiku has already gotten some reliable and damaging info from insiders and supporting evidence too. APC saw this and immediately petitioned the police alleging that Atiku had hacked their Server. But they couldn't substantiate anything or implicate Atiku. They knew that the entire manipulations have been found out by the opposition who are ready to hit them hard at the Tribunal. So they needed to act fast, and off to work they went. Opinion: Celebrating Democracy Day with Election Rigmarole by Femi Aribisala.

What we have in Nigeria is government of the government by the government and for the government. The Nigeria of today is stranger than fiction.  The government has just legally declared June 12 “Democracy Day” and proclaimed that, henceforth, it will be a public holiday when we will celebrate Nigeria’s hard-won democracy.  Except that this celebration of democracy is at the instance of an undemocratic government that has done a lot in the past few months to destroy democracy in Nigeria. June 12 is in remembrance of that day in 1993, when one of Nigeria’s freest elections was maliciously annulled because the powers-that-be did not like the result.  President Buhari is now trying to make political capital out of the matter by proclaiming government remorse over that act of brazen ille...

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has stated that it did not support Atiku because he promised to restructure Nigeria. This revelation among others were revealed when Punch's reporter Godwin Isenyo interviewed Anthony Sani, the group's Secretary-General. Below is a transcript of the interview: What is your view on the just concluded general elections in the country? I think there was a kind of improvement over the past elections. Nigerians, who have become more enlightened, helped to change what used to hold sway in the previous elections in which only big names called the shots. In a way, plutocracy and kleptocracy are giving way to democracy that is premised on triple foundation of justice, liberty and decency. Did you see what happened to those who defected from their politica...

Nigeria: No Country Has Perfect Elections – INEC to the U.S

In a response to the reports the U.S on the 2019 general elections, INEC has said that there is no country in the world that has a perfect election. This response was given by Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman. It will be recalled that the U.S and other international observers had made some observations that scored the last elections quite low. The U.S embassy had earlier released a statement where it made its views on the 2019 general elections known. It had said "As long-time friends of Nigeria, we continue to follow closely the ongoing elections. We do not have a preferred party or candidate. "As noted by many observer groups in their preliminary reports, we too were disappointed by the low voter turnout as well as credible reports of voter intimidation, v...
