NFF Gives Keshi the Boot

Head coach of the Nigerian Super Eagles Stephen Keshi has been sacked by the Nigerian Football Federation. This sack is coming after the NFF and Keshi spent many weeks trying to reach a contractual agreement. The reason for this sack according to the NFF is that after duly reviewing Keshi’s performance, actions and in-actions, they came to the conclcusion that he did possess the level of commitment they expect from a coach who can achieve the goals and objectives the NFF has set out.

The NFF did not come out to give any specific reason why they took this decision. However, it is likely that this decision was reached after the NFF got the information that Keshi applied for the position of the Coach of the Cote D’Ivoire team.

With Keshi’s sack, the NFF is now back to the market in search of a suitable coach for the Nigerian Super Eagles. In the meantime, the team will be managed by the Assistant Salisu Yusuf in collaboration with the Technical Directorate of the NFF led by Coach Shuaibu Amodu.
