Oliseh Blasts NFF over Enyeama

Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has blasted the NFF over the issue with current Super Eagle’s captain Vincent Enyeama. Enyeama had been called before a disciplinary committee for a comment he made to the press before the 2017 Nation’s Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Chad played earlier this week.

Enyeama had wondered on the safety of the venue chosen by the NFF for the match. The NFF had chosen the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna for the match. The NFF felt that Enyeama’s comment was unguarded and therefore summoned him before a disciplinary committee, a summon which Enyeama did not honour.

Speaking with Supersport, Oliseh advised the NFF not to threat Enyeama like a civil servant under the employ of the NFF. He said Enyeama should be treated like the professional he is. Oliseh went on to say “He is not a civil servant. Why are you querying him?” He further noted that “He is a professional football player, the captain of the team and simply aired his opinion and I think that should be respected.”

The NFF responding to Enyeama’s failure to respond to the summon have threatened to sanction him for the slight. Enyeama on the other hand claims he did not get any letter notifying him of the summons.
