Mali Into the Semi Finals

Africa has cause to rejoice as Mali and Senegal are through to the semi finals of the on-going FIFA U-20 World Cup at New Zealand. Mali defeated Germany 4:3 in a penalty shootout after the match ended 1:1. Germany opened scores in the 38th minute through Brandt while Mali equalized in the 58th minute through Coulibaly.

Senegal on the other hand, won their match within regulation time. They defeated Uzbekistan by a lone goal scored in the 77th minute by Thiam. With these two African representatives in the semi finals, Africans are sure that at least one trophy will be coming to the continent. We may even end up having more than one trophy of which the most coveted one could be one.

African prays for these two teams as they play the Semi-finals on Wednesday. Senegal will take on Brazil while Mali will take on Serbia.
