Nigeria: You're Still Talking About What You Will Do and Not What You Have Done - Ben Bruce to Prof Osinbajo

Almost a year since coming into office, the Buhari administration is still talking about what it will do and not what it has done. This accusation came from Senator Ben Bruce in response to the Vice President’s tweet. Professor Osinbajo had tweeted that “Three million jobs would be created in the country within three years starting in 2016.”

This administration has made promises upon promises, non of which has been fulfilled. If anything, some of these promises are now being denied. Examples of these include:

  • Feeding of school children
  • Paying of N5000 monthly welfare allowance to 25 million poorest Nigerians
  • Producing 10,000 Megawatts of power yearly
  • Paying of welfare to elderly Nigerians
  • Finding and rescuing the Chibok girls
  • Ending the Boko Haram insurgency within 2 months (later shifted to December 2015)
  • Fighting corruption (no conviction till date) etc

The above are just a few of the many promises made to Nigerians. Like Senator Ben Bruce noted, this administration should start pointing to what they have achieved and stop campaigning. Elections are over and they won. Its time to deliver of campaign promises.

Nigerians voted for APC’s deceptive change instead of Gej’s transformation. Now, they have been chained by the change. Air fares have increased by 100% because of scarcity of dollars. Lagos to London now #400,000 instead of #200,000 it was last year. The same applies to other routes. No fuel, no dollars, no light, late salary, high cost of food items and other items in the market. Crumbled Economy and He is only fighting corruption without result. No one has been jailed not even Dasuki. Which way Nigeria?

These almajiris talk without think. They say Buhari can not work without the budget. How can NASS approve the budget when the budget is not properly done? The President is busy travelling from one country to the other he did not wait for the budget and these almajiris did not tell him to wait for the budget to be approved before travelling.

Calling people derogratory names for whatever reason is a clear cut sign of bad upbringing. Also rest assured thAt it is not easy to rule a country as populous and diverse as Nigeria.Be constructive in your criticisms and more importantly profer alternative but practicable solutions.
