A group known as the Nigeria Voters Assembly (VOTAS) has come out to urge President Buhari to ignore all the pleas attempting to distract him from his commitment to fight corruption and recover looted funds. This statement was released by Comrade Mashood Erubami, the President of the group.

According to the group, corruption was the biggest problem hindering Nigeria’s development as a country. He noted that so much money had been diverted into private pockets either by direct stealing or by non-remittance of revenue that had accrued to the government, He urged President Buhari to ignore the errand boys of these corrupt officials who are trying to save their loot and skin by sending messengers to distract him from his chosen course.

Comrade Erubami continued by saying “instead of listening to the likes of Father Mathew Kukah who now appears to be dimming the light over anti-corruption war and others running errands for the corrupt to obstruct the loot recovery drive of the present government, the bar of anti-graft war should be raised higher with assurance to the people that the government will never disappoint Nigerians whose confidence is being strengthened by the change mantra of the APC.”

According to him, President Buhari must continue what he has started so he can fully deliver on his campaign promises which included to a large degree the fight against corruption.
