Nigeria: 808 Killed In Southern Kaduna Attacks - Catholic Archdiocese

Reports released by the Catholic Archdiocese of Kafanchan has put the death toll in the Southern Kaduna attacks at about 808. This revelation was made by Reverend Father Ibrahim Yakubu, Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kafanchan.

According his report, about 808 people have been killed, 1,422 houses, 16 Churches, 19 shops, and one primary school destroyed. He noted that the government at all levels has failed woefully in its duty to protect its citizens.

He said “Unfortunately, our government both at the Centre and State levels have failed woefully,” he said. “If anything, government has shown outright partisanship in favour of the herdsmen to the disappointment of the majority Southern Kaduna indigenes and Christians.”

He went on to call for an end to the attacks and a proper investigation into the entire situation. “We call on Southern Kaduna indigenes to remain steadfast in prayer, united, strong and never to cave in to the antics of our adversaries. Tribe and denominational differences shouldn’t put a chasm between us.”
