Madagascar has sacked her Education Minister Rijasoa Andriamanana for planning to buy sweets for school children who consume the country’s COVID-organics.

The Minister had earlier planned to buy sweets worth $2.2m with the aim of reducing the bitterness of the country’s COVID-19 cure, AFP news agency reports.

Although the sacked Minister had abandoned the plan before she was sacked, it was reported that President Rajoelina condemned the idea which would have had each student receiving three sweets.

A statement released by Malagasy Government confirming her sack directed Ella Beatrice Assoumacou who is in charge of ministry of higher education to double as the acting education minister.
