Count Down To October 1st - What Nigerians Are Saying About Buhari

As way of counting down to the independence day celebration, we will be scouring social media to bring comments and posts from Nigerians regarding the Buhari led government. This is the voice of the people:

Victor Oladokun on Facebook –

Let’s not be quick to rush to judgement with regard to Ambassador Joy Ogwu. I’m sure there is more than one side to the debacle. When a Government does not appoint Ministers more than 100 days after being in office, these type of things are bound to happen. I’m not suggesting Ambassador Ogwu be absolved of blame. However, you also have to factor in the often arrogant, uncivil, and high handed manner that characterizes some of the President’s Villa handlers, who have scant regard for details and advanced prep.

For such a high level agenda and meeting, a sitting Foreign Minister would have been able to run interference with the resident Permanent UN Rep to ensure that that there is seamless fluidity between Aso Villa and the Permanent Mission in NY.

Admittedly, going back to some of the snafus that took place during GMB’s Blair House visit a few months ago, this is one snafu too many.

Let no one infer political motives or politics here. It’s simply an issue of getting one’s act together on multiple fronts. Simple.
