Nigeria: Buhari Not Returning Tomorrow, Extends Leave

The much awaited return of President Buhari will no longer take place tomorrow as he is said to have extended his leave. This information was made available to the press this evening by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the Presidency on Media and Publicity.

The official statement read thus:

President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly today, February 5, 2017, informing of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.

The President had planned to return to Abuja this evening, but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning. The notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President, and Speaker, House of Representatives.
Mr. President expresses his sincere gratitude to Nigerians for their concern, prayers and kind wishes.

This report is a bit confusing as the Presidency had earlier said that the President was hale and hearty and was not in any hospital. Now, with no definite date of return stated, Nigerians are left to make all kinds of assumptions.
