Lagos APC to Hold LG Primaries Today

The local government primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be held today across the 377 wards in 57 council areas in Lagos State. About 338 chairmanship and over 1, 200 councillorship aspirants had appeared before the Screening Committee, while the Appeal Committee chaired by a former Deputy Governor Olufemi Pedro had also concluded its sittings. LASG, FG To Close Eko Bridge for Maintenance June 4

The Lagos State Government has disclosed that the Eko Bridge from Costain to Alaka in bound National Stadium will be closed for a period of ten weeks for emergency repair work to be undertaken by the Federal Government from June 4 to August 13. This was contained in a statement by the state Commissioner for Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde, noting that the repair was necessitated by the need to complete the rehabilitation works at the opposite side of the bridge earlier initiated by the Federal Government, hence the need for a notice of route diversion. The Lagos State Police Command has condemned the inhumane act levelled against some individuals arrested during the protest at the Lekki tollgate area of the state on Saturday.
