NDDC Official Kidnapped by Gunmen in Imo State

Engineer Kingsley Okorafor has been abducted by unknown gunmen near his residence in Umuadara Umulogho Autonomous Community, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo state. The community not far away from a military checkpoint was thrown into panic, when an official of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) went missing in the early hours of Saturday. A family member disclosed that the abductee went to the vigil of the late traditional ruler of Ndihu, Eze innocent Anyawu on Friday night. The late Eze innocent of the Ndihu Autonomous Community in Obowo Local Government Area was to be buried on Saturday. Kuje prison escapee, Kamala Lawal has been apprehended by the Kastina Police Command after successfully raiding a suspected criminal hideout. Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James popularly known as Baba Ijesha has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old. Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences convicted the actor in a two-hour court judgement on Thursday. Naive Orphan Used By Human Trafficker to Export Drugs

Alleged human trafficker, Matthew Bassey was intercepted by The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in an attempt to traffic illicit drugs to Dubai. The 29-year-old planted the drugs into the luggage of an orphan, Ms. Peter Gift Eno, who he assigned to traffic those drugs, but was later intercepted by NDLEA officials at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. Two catholic priests traveling along the Benin-Auchi-Abuja Expressway have reportedly been kidnapped. The priests were abducted on Saturday while traveling from Benin to Uromi in Edo state. Shortly after Rev. Fr. Christopher Odia of the St. Michael Catholic Church, located around the Edo North Senatorial District was kidnapped and killed, two other priests, Rev.Fathers Udo Peter and Philemon were also kidnapped in the same state. A hospital in the Cameroonian city of Mamfe has been razed to the ground in an arson attack. All 45 patients at Mamfe district hospital were safely transferred to another facility and there were no deaths, according to a local administrative official interviewed by the AFP news agency. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) called Wednesday's fire an "unprecedented attack on a hospital of vital importance" that will have "a major impact on people in a region where access to healthcare has already been gravely impacted by years of violence". Soldiers Charged With Killing Nine Civilians In Cameroon

The army in Cameroon has confirmed that soldiers have killed nine civilians, including an 18-month-old girl. An army spokesman said a group of soldiers opened fire when they encountered hostile villagers in Missong, in the country's North-West region, earlier this month. A South African court has convicted a pastor of plotting to overthrow the government and to kill thousands of Black people in the country. Harry Johannes Knoesen, 61, a leader of the National Christian Resistance Movement, was on Monday found guilty of high treason, incitement to carry out violent attacks, and recruiting people to commit attacks.
