A Word to the Dogs of Opposition – Femi Fani-Kayode

Trust me when I tell you that if there is any foul play in this matter or any conspiracy to thwart the people's will we will make this nation ungovernable. - Femi Fani-Kayode As a consequence of the events of the last few days I am constrained to say that, like a rabid and mad dog that is foaming at the mouth, the Nigerian opposition, represented by the followers of Atiku Abubakar (Atikulators) and the followers of Peter Obi (Obidients), have lost control of their senses. They need to get a grip before it is too late. They are attempting to start something that they cannot finish and that they cannot possibly fathom the end of. They are beating the drums of war and are indulging in a level of irresponsible and downright dangerous behaviour that has NEVER been witnessed before i...

Opinion: The Vindication of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the Biafra Question – P. Omonua

"The trio of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Chief Sunday Adeyemo (Igboho) and Professor Banji Akintoye, all of whom have advocated for the creation of separate independent Nations are not eccentric nor delusional." Someone forwarded an audio recording to me few days ago which must have been preserved for more than 57 years. It was the voice of Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola (SLA), the last Premier of the Western Region and the 13th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland The voice was unmistakable, in his distinctive Ogbomosho accent. The summary of what he said, which I have transcribed from Yoruba to English as best as I could was: “…. Let us the Yorubas come together. Let the Ibos not ‘disorganize’ us with this election. We must not allow them to use this election to destroy our land, take over ...

Atiku Abubakar, who was the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the recently concluded Nigerian general elections, has expressed his willingness to form an alliance with Peter Obi, who contested on the platform of the Labour Party (LP). Atiku made this statement during a press conference on Thursday. Atiku stated that he believes that there will be no problem if Peter Obi decides to dialogue with the PDP to form an alliance or not. It is important to note that Peter Obi was Atiku’s running mate during the 2019 Presidential election. However, this time around, both men were competing for the PDP ticket before Peter Obi decamped to the LP. I Won the Presidential Elections and I’ll Prove it – Peter Obi

On Thursday, Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, insisted that he had won the presidential election held on Saturday and was ready to prove it. According to him, the election, won by the All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Tinubu, was controversial and designed to deliver predetermined outcomes. Although the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu as the president-elect, Obi claimed that the election did not meet the necessary requirements and could not be deemed credible. Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, was declared the winner of the 2023 presidential election after he polled 8,794,726 votes. The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced Tinubu as the winner at the International Collation Centre in Abuja during the ear...
