Boko Haram attacks Chad again

About 11 persons have been reported killed after two separate bomb attacks went off in Chad’s capital on Monday June 29 2015. These attacks came on the  heels of a massive clamp down on Boko Haram by the Chadian government which saw them rounding up several suspected members of the sect. This clamp down happened just one day ago.

The attacks which occurred within a six minute interval according the on-site witnesses. It appears that the attack was carried out in retaliation of the Chadian government’s clamp down on the sect. It will be recalled the Chadian government declared an all out war on the sect after a brutal attack on a police facility about two weeks ago which left about 34 persons dead.

This recent attack may be actually have been an attempt by the militants to resist arrest during a raid at a government weapon’s cache. Residents report that about five of the 11 dead were police officers. The attacks by these militants appear to have been on the rise for the past month even as talks after talks are on-going to get the Chad basin nations to fight the sect from all fronts.
